Tasting white wines from Spain will also get you in to some of the less well known areas.
Verd Albera, Empordia, Catalunya, 2008
Vibrantly peach and apple led, this is zesty and zingy enough to get the taste buds tingling with it's refreshing tangy grapefruit flavours. £6.95
Gaba do Xil Godello, Valdeorras, 2008, Galicia
The Godello is a white grape to watch and this is a fab example. Minerally and peach like, it's crisp and dry with a lovely fruit intensity. £8.50
Brandal Albarino, Rias Baixas, 2008
It's always good to see Albarino on shelves and wine lists and this is a great example. This has an intense stone fruit perfume with a floral edge. It's mid-weight with a lovely purity of apricot fruit and a lingering minerality. £8.95
