Welcome to the world of Wine Uncorked Education and Consultancy!

Since 1996, I have been talking about, teaching and writing about wine in Aberdeen and around Scotland.

Do you know what wine you like but don’t know why? Do you only drink white wine but would like to enjoy red? Are you stuck in a ‘wine rut’ and want to find new wines?

Allow me to help you get behind the wine label in an informative yet informal way

I offer certified Wine and Spirit Education Trust Courses, both in person (wine only) and online self study (wine and spirits) and the Wine Education Service ‘Courses and Workshops for wine lovers’.

I've recently added Saturday afternoon Wine Uncorked Workshops (see the events page).

I also offer tailor made Corporate Entertainment packages and host and organise Gourmet Wine Dinners.

Virtual tastings are here to stay and I have a regular programme planned. These can also be arranged for private groups.

I’m also a freelance wine writer with a regular column in the Press and Journal and the Courier and an IWSC wine judge.

I founded the Aberdeen Wine Appreciators Tasting Group in 1999 and we meet regularly at the Atholl Hotel. The Aberdeen Gin Appreciators tasting group launched in April 2017

I'm also a member of the Association of Wine Educators and the Circle of Wine Writers, a Certified Sherry Educator, a Certified Rioja Wine Educator and Napa Valley Certified

I do not sell wine, the wines that I use for events and courses are chosen for their character and are selected from high street retailers and independent and specialist wine merchants.
