The Wine and Spirit Education Trust was founded in 1969 to provide good quality wine education. Their qualifications are now offered more than 70 countries around the world and enjoyed by both professionals and enthusiastic amateurs.
It was working through their courses which opened my eyes to the world of wine.

As an Approved Programme Provider (APP), nominated Educator and Associate of the Institute of Wines and Spirits (AIWS), I will take care of the administration, tutoring of the course, organisation and invigialtion of exams.

As an APP, I currently offer the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines and WSET Level 2 Award in Wines as taught courses and the following online self study courses: WSET Level 1 Award in Wines Online, WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits Online, WSET Level 2 Award in Wines Online and WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits Online

I am happy to discuss the option of Zoom delivery for Level 1 Award in Wines for in-house training.

I'm also an educator and internal assessor for the Level 3 Award in Wines

I can also bring the classroom courses in-house to the trade in Aberdeen and across Scotland and work with in a time frame that suits your business needs. I am currently offering a rolling programme of online WSET Level 1 and WSET Level 2 courses so please get in touch for the next available dates.

* Due to the the introduction of minimum candidate numbers, all SPIRITS courses and exams must be completed by 30th July 2023. I'm afraid that I will no longer be able to offer spirits courses after this date.

EXAM INFORMATION FOR ONLINE COURSES

Exams for students who take an online course can be taken either in person with me in Aberdeen or in your own home via remote invigilation both at a mutually agreed date and time.

TASTING SAMPLES FOR ONLINE COURSES

Tasting samples are not included in the cost of the online courses but all courses list a range of recommended samples to complement each syllabus. For Level 1 Wines, 6 wines are recommended, for Level 2 Wines, 11 wines are recommended.

More wines would be tasted during classroom taught courses and French company Vinovae have developed sets of 2cl sample bottles to complement the Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Wines courses. They are available to purchase here https://www.e-tasting.com/

For Level 1 Spirits 8-10 samples are recommended and for Level 2 Spirits, at least 5 spirits are recommended.

You could also consider purchasing miniatures of spirits, Port etc and single serve/half bottles of wine. A range are available in supermarkets and online.

*Please note that booking deadlines are in place so that you can be registered with the WSET in good time and get study packs to you for the start of the course.
